From July 20th through July 23rd, the Libertarian Party of the Seacoast and the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire had an amazingly active and productive time at our vendor table at the 50th Annual Stratham Fair. Hundreds of people stopped by our booth over the four-day event and we had around 100 people take the political quiz. Many people discovered that they fell within the Libertarian square, and many others realized just how close they were to it. LP Seacoast was thrilled to gain 14 new members over the weekend, and many volunteers for both LP Seacoast and LPNH. We're excited to welcome our new members into the family, and we hope to see them all at our meetings and events over the coming months.
We'd like to thank the many volunteers who helped out with this event. We wouldn't have been able to have the successful weekend we did without the many of you who volunteered some of your time to help keep the booth stocked with supporters. Efforts like these continue to show the state of New Hampshire that the Libertarian Party is here to stay. Our work is only getting started; however, if you enjoyed your time helping out at the vendor table or you wanted to help but didn't have a chance - please consider helping again in the future with any of our other events, or consider helping a candidate campaign for office. Every bit helps, and continues the promotion of liberty in our great state. If you're interested in volunteering, let us know today!
On April 11th, the Libertarian Party of the Seacoast New Hampshire held their first annual convention. Fourteen of our twenty-four members were in attendance. All bylaw proposals were approved and elections for new officers were held. Brian McQuade was re-elected as chair of the party, and Nicholas Boyle was also re-elected as Secretary. First-time appointments included Brian Shields as vice chair, Forrest Osterman as Treasurer and Gary McGath as the at-large member to round out the executive committee.
In addition to this, the Event Coordinating Committee was reauthorized with Robb Goodell as chair and the Campaigning Coordinating Committee was created with Brian Shields as Chair, this committee will work regionally at times with the LPNH Campaign Coordinating Committee to offer assistance and resources for members wishing to seek office.
LP Seacoast has a door to door event taking place on April 23rd at 2 pm in Dover, contact us for more details if you are interested. We'll be notifying residents that they may now register as libertarian and we're also seeking new members. We'll have many more of these events later on this year.
